In a country under a totalitarian yoke called "Republic of the East", the adults fear the teenagers, too inclined to violence. To protect themselves, the Battle Royale law is passed. The principle of this "game" is very simple: a third class of 42 students is chosen at random and sent to an isolated place (an island in this case), and the students must kill each other until there is only one survivor.
