Sora, Riku and Kairi are three friends living on Destiny Island. Dreaming of adventures and larger worlds, they decide to build a raft in order to leave their island which they have quickly tired of. But the night before they leave, the island is attacked by strange creatures. Riku disappears in a flood of darkness, while Kairi strangely vanishes... In another world, the Disney Castle, the court magician, Donald, discovers that the king has disappeared, leaving behind a letter explaining that the stars disappeared one by one and that was a sign of bad omen. The king had decided to leave in order to fix the situation, and nevertheless entrusted Donald with a task: to find the bearer of the key. The key would be the way to bring peace back to the worlds and lead them away from darkness. Donald therefore leaves accompanied by the head of the royal guard Dingo in search of the key and its carrier. Sora wakes up alone in an unknown world, the City of Traverse, and he has a strange weapon: a kind of sword in the shape of a key...
