The best Lovecraft stories in manga and graphic novel format!
Provisional summary from the original story:
In Dunwich, a remote village in the state of Massachusetts, an albino
weak-minded woman named Lavinia Whateley gives birth to a
strange child, Wilbur, of unknown father. Belonging to a branch
degenerate member of the Whateley family, Lavinia resides on an isolated farm
with his father, old Whateley, a self-taught man qualified as a wizard.
The Whateleys began to regularly purchase several heads of
livestock, although the herd does not seem to be growing in number.
At the same time, Wilbur grows at a supernatural speed, learning
quickly to walk, talk and read. Before dying, the old man
Whateley manages to transmit all of his forbidden knowledge to his
grandson.
In addition to measuring more than two meters and sporting pointy ears
as well as a “goat face without a chin”, Wilbur Whateley —
always buttoned up from head to toe — sees his name mixed up in rumors
disappearances of domestic animals, even children. Scared,
Lavinia confides to villagers that she fears her son, the latter
now openly scorning her. She disappears permanently
some time later…
