It all begins with the adoption of young Hitori by a middle-aged couple. But the boy hides a dark secret from them. He has a twin brother and has brought him with him to his new home, located in a Japanese village on the outskirts of Osaka which was built using American towns and subdivisions as models. We will then follow the daily life of the two brothers within their new family and the village, who will do everything so that no one discovers that there are actually two of them. Indeed, the two brothers did not come to this village by chance. They are there to investigate and find the murderer of their biological mother who is hiding among its inhabitants... We are a little lost at the start of the first volume, but in a good way. We are allowed to discover the two brothers little by little, letting a certain mystery hover around them, but we cannot help but be captivated and want to know more about them. We are first disconcerted by the appearance of the twin brother who suddenly emerges from a package and by the fact that the two boys do everything to live as one and only person. We are then intrigued by their actions within their new family, which often cause hilarious scenes, but not only that. We go through a whole range of feelings. Stress and anxiety, when for example, we think that they are going to attack the family dog, which risks getting them unmasked. We also have comic scenes and other touching ones, during moments spent with family, not to mention a good dose of suspense which spices everything up. But everything ends up making sense at the end of the first volume, where the two brothers reveal that they are there to find their mother's murderer. All the inhabitants of the village are in reality suspects in their investigation. The story then shifts to a more thriller and detective side, while keeping the mix of genres from the first pages (comedy, horror, slice of life, etc.). Everything is brought out intelligently and is incredibly well put together. The designs are absolutely magnificent. We recognize Nami Sano's features at first glance. This is yet another true masterpiece that the author of Sakamoto offers us, to serve you! An anime adaptation has been approved and the first broadcast is scheduled for October 2 in Japan.
