However, his plans are thwarted when an assassin strikes Isolde, Viego's wife, with his poisoned blade and inflicts incurable harm on her.
As the Queen's condition deteriorates, Viego descends into madness and grief, and threatens to drag Camavor down with her. In order to save the kingdom, Kalista tries one last trick: she sets off in search of the Blessed Isles, which are rumored to hold Isolde's salvation – if she can find them.
But corruption plagues their capital, where a vengeful guardian hopes to trap Kalista in his cruel machinations. She will have to make a choice: stay loyal to Viego or follow the path of virtue. Because a simple act of courage is sometimes enough to pierce the darkest darkness and save the world.
